Our Napa Valley winery produced luxury Napa Valley wines. During our ownership and management, the winery enjoyed a loyal following with thousands of wine club members. The well-maintained vineyards consisted of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot.
In 1997, we continued our evolution and developed a recession-resistant, high gross margin business model and focused exclusively on the high-margin direct-to-consumer sales channel.
The thorough execution of our strategic plan by some of the most talented employees that we’ve had the honor and pleasure of working with, resulted in our winery becoming one of the leading boutique direct-to-consumer focused wineries in the Napa Valley.
Originally, with 100% wholesale distributed wines back in 1985, our direct-to-consumer sales increased over the years to approximately 99% of sales in fiscal year 2011, leading to remarkable sales and margin growth.
We thoughtfully worked with a shoestring budget to the benefit of our customers and employees. Our dedication to providing an unparalleled place to work, a warm and inviting tasting room and wine club experience, ability to provide multiple high-quality wines, and use of cutting-edge technology and social media tools created an amazing cash flow positive business.
We were able to sell the winery for well over generally accepted industry valuations in 2013 due to its brand presence, positive reputation, and strong potential for future growth in the highly coveted direct-to-consumer space.
